McKenna Hassel

Hey there, and welcome to my website. I am McKenna, a motivated and authentic actor/singer who is always craving to create! As a performer who is passionate about character-driven, emotionally honest storytelling, my work lives at the intersection of truth and imagination. As a versatile mezzo, my tone and style can range from vulnerable and intimate to dynamic and effervescent.  I'm really drawn to telling stories that have pertinent underlying messages. Stories that inform, bring unique perspectives to light, and shed light on overlooked or untold stories are the most gratifying part of this work for me. Stories that celebrate transformation or change, or that help find light through the struggle, really inspire me as an actor.

I'm a native Clevelander and am currently pursuing my BFA in Musical Theatre at Kent State University with a minor in Dance. I was most recently seen onstage as Charlotte in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella at Kent State University.

Between rehearsals and being onstage, I can be found reading, creating artwork with my oil pastels, or whipping up a new dish in the kitchen. I am a proud mother to my cat Winston and also enjoy volunteering at local animal shelters in my free time.
